以前のテーマは自分がその場所で体験した一定の時間を１つの絵の中に表現することでした。
今は１つのテーマだけでなく、興味のあることはなんでも挑戦しています。
最近だと身の回りで気になった植物や景色を描いたり、自分が興味を持ったモチーフを組み合わせながら、自分が見てみたい物語の中のような空間を描いています。
今の時代は、訪れたことのない場所でも簡単に画像を検索して見ることできます。
壮大な自然の絶景や個性溢れる異国の街並み、簡単には出会えない自然の中に住まう動物の姿など、いつか実物をこの目に収めたいと願いつつ、今は絵にすることでその空間を愛でています。
作品を作る時に大切にしているのは自分自身がワクワクするかどうか、ときめく要素が入っているかどうかです。
それと同時に絵画として成立させるため、冷静に絵作りを思考する側面もあります。
最近つくづく思うのは、美術のジャンルは幅広いけれど私は絵がとりわけ好きなんだということです。
平面という不自由な空間の中だからこそ、試行錯誤が生まれる、そのやりとりがたまらなく好きなのです。
画材をどう使ってどのように描くか、どんな要素を入れるか、何を表現したいか、構図で人の視線度どう誘導するか…
過去の巨匠たちが人生を懸けて会得した惚れ惚れする筆遣いや表現方法、そこまでの道のりは遥か遠いものですが、言葉にはならない絵画だからこそできる人の心に残る表現を追求していきたいです。

Lately, I've been painting plants and scenery that catch my eye in my daily life, and combining motifs that interest me to create spaces that feel like they're from a story I'd like to see.
In this day and age, it's easy to search for and see images of places you've never been to.
Whether it's spectacular natural scenery, unique exotic cityscapes, or rare animals that live in nature, I hope to one day see these things with my own eyes, and now I admire these spaces by turning them into paintings.
When I create a work, what's important to me is whether it excites me, whether it contains elements that make my heart flutter.
At the same time, I also need to calmly consider the process of creating a painting in order to make it work.
Lately, I've been thinking that although there are a wide variety of genres in art, I particularly love painting.
It's precisely because the restrictive space of a two-dimensional surface allows for trial and error, and I absolutely love that process.
How to use art materials, how to paint, what elements to include, what I want to express, how to guide the viewer's gaze with the composition...
The mesmerizing brushwork and methods of expression that the great masters of the past risked their lives to master are still a long way off, but I want to pursue the kind of expression that stays in people's hearts, something that is possible only through painting, which cannot be put into words.
